They should forget the film and just release a dvd version of the original broadway cast using great footage like this. Then we can see truly great actors up close. It's awkward to be within two inches of someone else's face and singing at the top of your lungs, but they do it and make us believe in the power of the story.

This musical is amazing. I don't get why all the hate, I think Tim Rice's lyrics are so fabulous. And yet people slam it when in comparison to the Opera. Oh well. I hope one day that Adam and Heather will reprise their roles for the film. They are so powerful.
