Yeah the airports are difficult especially because of 9/11 etc. Personally I feel more comforatable, knowing that everyone is thoroughly checked before I board an aircraft. As for immigration, it takes 3 years to become a Canadian citizen and about 13 to become a Swiss citizen, also we have the highest per capita immigration rate in the world.

I loved Switzerland so so much and when I left to come back I felt more "home" sick than when I actually left home. Deffinately will not be my last visit to Switzerland. @sauerkraut44 I wish we had youtube 30 years ago. It would've made the playing far simpler than listening for hours and trying to figure out how they got their sound. Perhaps it was harder, but yet a joy to get it down. Pat is, like almost anything off the pop charts, an aquired taste. The guy was playing with giants like Joni Mitchell and Jaco Pastorius in the mid 70's. I guess he was more known outside the US than in it, and still is.

@MrNachtlich I would highly recommend investing in one of those cannon waterproof cameras. The pictures are EXPENSIVE if you don't take your own. ALso, I was very unimpressed with the pictures that were taken. I don't think the angles were good at all, blurry, dark, etc... But You still pay like $100 USD for them cause You wannna remember it. I'd recommend getting a Cannon D10 waterproof camera for great stills and a bit of video and just take turns with your friends taking pics. Or buy a GoPro

I went there last summer, it was the most fun I've had in my life! Definitely go on the longest run they have, it's well worth the money. Oh, be sure to stay at the Balmers. It's the local hostel where everyone goes. There is a bar downstairs and where a lot of the people in town go out. They are also very nice people. I left my ipod there and they mailed it back to the states for me.

I went on this same canyoning trip in Interlaken, summer 07. It was the most fun adrenaline pumping time of my life. There is soooo much to do in Interlaken. While I was there I went skydiving,hang gliding, half day canyoning..I liked it so much I came back and did the full day canyoning the very next day.Anytime I'm in Europe, I will always find my way back to Interlaken!!!...and staying at Balmer's of course ;)

I went there and it was fucking amazing.... absolutely amazing all the jumps they do i did, in fact a girl in the group behind us was a dumbass and didnt tuck her legs in like instructed, did a pencil dive instead, hit the bottom and shattered her tibia had to be heli lifted out of there. just make sure to listen to the instructors directions. This was the time of my life better than anything extreme i have ever done.

The Japanese did in fact intend to test the United States to see what they could get away with in order to see if they could cause enough initial damage to launch an invasion. But the Swiss, unlike most Americans, are highly educated and trained well in responsible firearms use and ownership. I fully support the right of citizens to bear arms but there's a lot of work to be done in training and education for sure...that said even where training is lax there is still lower crime than were guns are simply banned.

well I got nothing against legal guns but come on man, the way guns are sold in some states in the US is just insane, just go in and get a gun of any kind within 24 hours, at least do some proper background checks on the people that can buy guns. And comparing switzerland to the US is just ridiculous, in switzerland the guns are provided to the civilians after they went through military training, that is something completely different than how it goes down in the US.
